Suntino Renewable Energy Limited (previously TTS Consulting) were appointed as the project management team for the supply, installation and commissioning of a tower mounted wind turbine on behalf of Edinburgh City Council. The turbine, installed at Currie High School can provide a maximum generating capacity of 11kW to contribute towards the school’s electrical consumption.
The development involved correspondence between sub-contractors, council & local government representatives, education authorities, local residents and local wildlife groups ensuring that consideration was given to all affected parties throughout the process. Workshops and open forum meetings were organised to keep all parties informed of the progress and to deal with any issues or concerns as they arose.
The approach to the management of this particular contract was one of co-ordination and communication. Our extensive experience of project management in multi-disciplinary projects and knowledge of renewable technologies provided a basis for accurate communication, cost control and success.
The team developed a project management Quality Plan at the outset to ensure all aspects of the project were assessed at an early stage and the highest standards were achieved. The result was a project which was completed in time, within budget and to client’s satisfaction.
